Chris has confirmed now by email that the Factory date is Week 25 (for factory completion). This is the week June 21st to June 25th. Sunbird normally allow three weeks for delivery and commissioning, so the worst case would be the Friday 16th July for Handover date. They normally like to try and handover on a Thursday, so allowing a working Friday to sort any teething issues.
The date might be earlier, but assuming it is not, this would mean sailing Missy Bear across the border into Spain on Saturday 17th July to clear French waters. [Strictly speaking Beneteau say that the formal handover should take place in Spain.]
Chris tells me that Ruairi from Sunbird (pronounced Rory) will sail the boat to Spain (not SAS), so I intend to try and get to Canet to be with Ruairi for that trip. We will then get our marina invoice stamped for the log to prove we left France.
We may drop Ruairi in Spain or sail back to Canet. I need to know what he intends to do, so that I can organise the departure location for the crew for the first leg to Sardinia. I have over a dozen potential crew who have expressed an interest on some or all of the legs.
