We've now got best and final offers from Ancasta and Sunbird. We're just waiting for Richard at Greek Sails to provide a quote for buying and keeping the boat in Poros. If we go with Sunbird, we would take the boat ex-VAT, British registered and keep it at the Gocek base in Turkey. This would allow us to take advantage of sailing into EU waters for 18 month periods. If we go with Greek Sails, they will probably get a better corporate discount and, by putting it into charter with them, we would also avoid VAT. The issue is reduction of manufacturer's warranty to 1 year. The yacht might also have to be Greek registered, and we don't know if this will cause any issues in future.
